BUILDING MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIPS

HOW JOE EQUITAN JR. BUILDS
MEANINGFUL CLIENT RELATIONSHIPS

1. How would you describe yourself beyond your role?
I am Joe Equitan. I have spent most of my career in sales and customer service, so
working with people has always been at the center of what I do. I enjoy building real
connections and being someone others can rely on. Before joining REA, I built my career
at T-Mobile and later gained experience in Adobe’s government sales division. In 2025, I
made the move into wealth management and joined the family business, bringing that
same focus on service with me.

2. What does your work at REA look like today?
Today, I serve as Director of Family Client Experience and Wealth Advisor at REA. A big
part of what I do is making sure clients feel supported—from how we communicate to how
we assist them through different decisions. I work closely with families as they think
through their financial plans, with the goal of helping them better understand their options
and next steps.

3. What principle guides the way you work with people?
My guiding philosophy is to take care of others. I believe that when you show up with
integrity, stay consistent, and genuinely care about people, everything else tends to follow.

4. In your view, what sets REA apart?
For me, what sets REA apart is the focus on relationships. We take time to understand
each person’s situation, priorities, and what matters most to them, and we approach every
interaction with care and attention.

5. Looking back, what experiences shaped your journey?
My background in customer service and sales shaped how I approach my work today. It
taught me the importance of trust, clear communication, and being consistent in how I
show up. Those are things I carry with me in every interaction.

6. What drives your mission, and how does it connect to your role at REA?
At the core, I want to be helpful and reliable to the people I work with. At REA, I am able to
do that by working with families as they navigate important financial decisions over time.

7. What kind of standard do you set for yourself in your work?
I try to do things right the first time. For me, that means being accountable, paying
attention to details, and following through on what I say I will do.

8. What values shape how you approach your work and relationships?
Patience is a big one for me. People move at different paces, and it is important to respect
that. It helps you understand them better and build trust over time.

9. How does continuous learning influence the way you serve clients?
Things are always changing, so staying informed matters. The more I learn, the better I
can support the people I work with and adapt to their needs.

10. How do you define success in what you do?
Success, for me, is doing my work well and knowing I’ve been able to guide someone
along the way. If clients feel informed and comfortable with the process, that means a lot.

11. What keeps you motivated each day?

The people I work with. Every client is different, and every situation is different. That keeps
the work meaningful and keeps me learning.

12. What kind of legacy do you hope to leave behind?
I would want to be remembered as someone people could trust—someone who showed
up, did things the right way, and treated others with respect.

13. If you could share one message with others, what would it be?
Be kind. Take care of people. Those small things go a long way.
